Tekin Builds EP.22 – Tekno EB48 2.0

The Tekno EB48 2.0 is Tekno RC’s newest iteration of the EB48 1/8 E-buggy platform. Lots of changes were made from the EB48.4, like the 4mm chassis plate, longer suspension arms, narrow suspension pivot points, high volume differential housings and easy access to said differentials. The new chassis is wider and the weight has been shifted forward a bit, giving great stability. The EB48 2.0 has proven to be a durable, fast and very drivable 1/8 scale electric buggy platform, so lets build one and see for ourselves!

GEN4 ROTOR SHIMMING

Let’s talk shims! Shimming. No, it’s not a dance move, I’m talking about positioning the rotor in your brushless motor and limiting its lateral movement using shims. Shims are included with your Tekin GEN4 motor and the rotor has already been shimmed at the factory. It’s not always perfect, so like gapping your spark plugs (yes you should) even though they are pre-gapped, you should shim your rotor (yes you should) even though it is pre-shimmed.

KYLE TURNER TRIPLES AT GOLDEN STATE ARENA-X!

Had a good time this weekend at the Golden State Arena Cross at Delta RC. Ended up taking the overall TQ and wins in 4wd Mod Buggy, 1/8 E-Buggy and 4wd SCT! The event also had a Dash for Cash but I didn’t end up winning that, it was fun anyways though. Overall a fun time just hanging out with some old friends that I haven’t seen in a while.

Thank you to all my sponsors for the continued support!

DORTMUND WINS 4WD TRUCK AT NCT RD.4!

1:10 4WD Truck is a class that looks to be gaining some momentum in a few areas and Matt Dortmund showed the field how it’s done the last weekend at Round 4 of the Northwest Championship Tour in Pasco, WA. The track at Tri-Cities RC Raceway is a tenth scale racer’s dream with its smooth surface, good traction and fast, flowing layouts. There is usually very little room for error in Pasco and every single lap on the clay-type surface demands precision driving and calm nerves. Tekin Driver Matt Dortmund took both the TQ and the win on mains day with his full Tekin-powered 1:10 Truggy.

Tekin Builds EP.20 – Tekno EB410.2 Chassis Build

The 20th Episode of Tekin Builds brings us a Tekno RC EB410.2 build! Join in on building a buggy in 22 minutes (ha, if only) and have it ready for our RSX Pro, 6.5T GEN4 and T-190 installs. I’m pretty excited to drive a Tekno and the EB410.2 is a stout little buggy. Durability shouldn’t be an issue and I can tell this car is going to eat rough dirt tracks for breakfast judging by the thickness of the suspension arms, the 13mm big bore shocks and the 3 fluid filled diffs. It’s like a shrunk down 1:8 scale buggy platform! The build went extremely smooth and I can tell working on this car is going to be very straightforward with all the easy access to the diffs. Tuning options galore, we should be able to dial this buggy in for any surface.
