TEKIN SERVO FAQ

Welcome to the Tekin Servo FAQ Section! We strive to provide you with the best service possible, so we have compiled a list of questions we are frequently asked to better help you find what you're looking for! If there is anything you are looking for that is not on this list, please contact us and leave a suggestion!

Q1. What is the torque rating on Tekin Servos?

A1. We rate our servo torque at 6.0V, 7.2V and 8.4V using a 1” long servo arm. This is ounces per inch (oz/in) torque numbers at each voltage. Each servo was tested on a rig at ambient temperature (68-70°F) and pre-loaded in a controlled manner to capture the most accurate ratings possible. We do not “slam” the servo through slack to capture higher numbers, which is what we call “Dynamic Torque” and is covered in the next question.

Q2. What is Dynamic Torque?

A2. We also give Dynamic Torque ratings on each servo at each voltage level. This is the peak torque our servos are capable of at ambient temperature (68-70°F) when slamming the servo against the test device through space in which the servo is not loaded. This lets the servo build up energy, giving us higher torque numbers.

Q3. Are Tekin Servos programmable?

A3. Yes! Use our HotWire PC Interface and the Servo can be customized and dialed to suit your needs. The software is free to download, and future servo firmware updates are also free.

Q4. What is the speed rating on Tekin Servos?

A4. Speed is defined by how quickly the servo traverses 60° of movement in seconds, (°/sec). We rate our servo speed at 6.0V, 7.2V and 8.4V at ambient temperature (68-70°F) on a test rig that measures servo arm movement.

Q5. Are Tekin Servos high voltage capable?

A5. Yes! Our servos can operate from 4.8 to 8.4V.

Q6. Are Tekin Servos waterproof?

A6. Our Element Proof servos are as moisture resistant as possible, however we do not cover damage that occurs due to submerging them. The control board inside the servo is coated with a silicone conformal coating and the housing is gasket sealed at each break point. We also have gaskets on the housing screws as well as the output spline bearing.

Q7. What is the output spline pattern on Tekin Servos?

A7. Our servos are 25T pattern.

Q8. Can I use the Tekin Vector servo arm on any Tekin Servo?

A8. Yes!

Q9. Can I use the Tekin Crowbar servo arms on any Tekin Servo?

A9. Yes!

Q10. What is the warranty on Tekin Servos?

A10. Our servo warranty is 365 days (1 year) from date of purchase. Valid with proof of purchase receipt showing purchase date. Manufacturer defects are covered and will result in appropriate repair or replacement. It does not cover damage from excessive use, misuse, abuse, poor maintenance, usage outside of the specifications, modification or other and is limited to judgment by Tekin technicians.

Q11. Where do I get information on repair or replacement of a Tekin Servo?

A11. Please visit our Service page on how to start the return process or contact us to speak with a technician.

Q12. What is the Tekin Servo horn screw thread pattern and size?

A12. M3 x 8mm.
