Tekin Builds EP.11 – Street Eliminator Beginnings

Street Outlaws, Eliminators or No-Prep cars are becoming more and more popular these days so I decided to jump into the unknown and put a car together. Drag racing is one form of RC I really have no experience with, so when I started seeing bodies, wheels and tires coming out for this class of car I knew I needed to build one. With a little research and chatting with some pro racers about these cars, I put a parts list together and started the build.

K-55 1/10 RC Rally Truck – Full Details & Breakdown!

The K-55 was a huge project that we worked on for months. After the first build, the M-55, we were anxious to begin on a new bigger, more feature-packed custom build. Using some of the best parts in the industry, we created a 3D-printed 1/10 Rally Truck like you’d see charging through the deserts in the Dakar Rally or the Russian highlands of the Silk Way Rally. It’s big, it’s bad and it backs up its awesome looks with awesome performance. Just like the full size, it takes a beating and keeps on trucking.

Tekin Products Used:
RX4
ROC412HD 2300kV
T-440 Steering Servo
T-120 Shift Servo

We’re back with Tekin Builds and moving right into the next project! The new Vanquish VS4-10 PRO kit has been out for about a month now and we were lucky to get ahold of one out of the first batch. Ty is assembling the kit and going over some of the awesome new features the PRO kit brings to the table. New axles, the new VFD transmission and a bunch of other changes were made to the platform and we can’t wait to hit the trails! I used products from these awesome companies:

Tekin Builds EP.8 – TLR 8IGHT-X E Electronics Install

This episode covers the electronics installs. An RX8 GEN3, T8 GEN3 and T-250 Servo go in the 8IGHT-X E and Ty also covers some soldering tips, shows how to center and set servo end points (EPAs) and shows how to calibrate the RX8 GEN3. Lastly, setting the proper voltage cutoff is very important so you don’t damage your LiPOs! The RX8 GEN3 has a 2S cutoff out of the box, so if you want to run 3-6S you have to set the proper cutoff.

Tekin Builds EP.6 – Vanquish VS4-10 Trail Run

Putting some miles and beauty marks on the VS4-10! It was sunny and cold over the weekend (40F cold) and windy, but that didn’t stop me from taking the VS4-10 out on my home trail and running some semi-comp lines. I made some small changes since the maiden voyage, which were going up 10wt in rear shock oil and gearing down from a 13T to a 10T pinion. The change in shock oil was just to slow down the rear shock compression/rebound a bit which made the truck even more stable in the real tricky terrain. Gearing down 3T on the pinion gave me even more smooth low-end control, which is always welcome. I try to drive as smooth as possible and keep the movement scale. I did lose a little wheel speed, but 4S and a 2300kV provides plenty of snap when I need it!
