An 8-race points based series run at various tracks throughout Southern California. Note:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocrcraceway.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span>OCRC Raceway<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is the site\u00a0of this year&#8217;s Reedy Race of Champions! In attendance were Team Associated&#8217;s Kevin Motter, Nick Wautlett and Wayne Wyrick, TLR\u2019s James Raschko and David Jenson, Tekno RC&#8217;s Rudy Rico, Mugen&#8217;s Tim Long, Serpent&#8217;s Matt Schreffler, and a number of very fast local racers. There would be two rounds of 5 minute qualifiers, followed by 5 minute A Mains. Announcing would be handled by Notch Johnson. There were approximately 180 entries this round.<\/p>\n<p>The layout was very tight, with a number of 180 degree turns, S-turns, and two table-top jumps into immediate 90 degree turns. Because of the tight layout, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tekn <\/a>factory driver Lucas Sanford elected to replace his usual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/t8.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tekin 2050kv T8<\/a> motor with the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/t8i.html\" target=\"_blank\">T8i \u00a01950kv<\/a> &#8220;Indoor&#8221; motor. The weight savings would make his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tekin <\/a>powered Kyosho MP9 more nimble. It proved to be a wise choice, as my car was &#8220;unbelievable in the turns.&#8221; Lucas would run a mistake free A-main run starting from the Tq position to take the overall in.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-m_X-HfO_sJY\/Ut698JPCctI\/AAAAAAAAH7Y\/dlhUi0ZKUE8\/s1600\/eBuggy+TNS+Rd3.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-m_X-HfO_sJY\/Ut698JPCctI\/AAAAAAAAH7Y\/dlhUi0ZKUE8\/s1600\/eBuggy+TNS+Rd3.JPG\" height=\"239\" width=\"320\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I can honestly say that my Kyosho MP9 TKI 3 on AKA clay Handlebar tires, with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/rx8.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tekin RX8 Gen 2<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/t8i.html\" target=\"_blank\">T8i motor<\/a>, has never performed better on an indoor track!&#8221; Sanford<\/p>\n<p>Sanford would alos make the 2wd Mod Buggy podium starting from the 5th position powering his Kyosho RB6 with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/rsx.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tekin RSX<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/redline_gen2.html\" target=\"_blank\">Redline 7.5 Gen2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-90BDJ139p88\/Ut6-UFrh1aI\/AAAAAAAAH7g\/KV9WrD-S-3o\/s1600\/TND+RD+3+2wd.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-90BDJ139p88\/Ut6-UFrh1aI\/AAAAAAAAH7g\/KV9WrD-S-3o\/s1600\/TND+RD+3+2wd.JPG\" height=\"239\" width=\"320\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, CA hosted Round 3 of the JConcepts Top Notch Winter Series Round #3 on January 18th.
