{"id":1461,"date":"2014-11-20T19:15:37","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T19:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/news\/?p=1461"},"modified":"2014-11-20T19:16:51","modified_gmt":"2014-11-20T19:16:51","slug":"tekin-wins-at-ierc-gun-smoke-classic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/news\/tekin-wins-at-ierc-gun-smoke-classic\/","title":{"rendered":"Tekin wins at IERC Gun Smoke Classic!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\">Tekin<\/a><\/strong> team drivers competed at the recent Gun Smoke Classic held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/news\/www.iercraceway.com\">IERC Raceway<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0San Bernardino, CA.<\/p>\n<p>Two heats of 1\/8 Scale E Buggy would make for a fun race with a strong field. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\">Tekin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0teammate Brian Sullivan had a very good run in the first heat taking the TQ. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\">Tekin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0powered Lucas Sandford would take the overall Tq in Rd1 by 2 seconds and a near perfect run. In Q2, David Jenson pressed hard for the entire race, but Sanford\u00a0had another great run taking the win. Sanfords\u00a02nd round TQ meant he\u00a0would not have to race the third qualifier, and would\u00a0start on the pole for Sunday\u2019s A-Mains, with Eric McNeil second and Brian Sullivan third.<\/p>\n<p>In A1, Sanford\u00a0got a great start. McNiel stayed on his\u00a0bumper for a while but made a mistake and let Sullivan by. Midway through\u00a0the race, Sullivan crashed on the triple and David Jenson started his charge. Jenson had a good race, but Sanford\u00a0was able to pull away and beat the clock for a victory lap. In A2, Lucas\u00a0got another great start and the car just got better and better as the AKA Typos heated up. Sanford\u00a0was able to take the win for A2, and was able to sit out the third A-Main. David Jenson had a great race and took second on the podium, with Sullivan in third.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/ebuggy_final_lg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1457\" src=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/ebuggy_final_lg-1024x764.jpg\" alt=\"ebuggy_final_lg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\">Tekin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<a title=\"Tekin T8i\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/t8i.html\" target=\"_blank\">T8i motor<\/a> and <a title=\"Tekin RX8 Gen2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/rx8.html\" target=\"_blank\">RX8 Gen 2 ESC<\/a>\u00a0powered\u00a0MP9 TKI3 on AKA rubber and DE wheels, with KO radio and electronics was dialed all weekend. The<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/\">Tekin<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<a title=\"Tekin T8i\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/t8i.html\" target=\"_blank\">T8i motor<\/a> and <a title=\"Tekin RX8 Gen2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teamtekin.com\/rx8.html\" target=\"_blank\">RX8 Gen 2 ESC<\/a> allowed me to weigh in at just 14 grams over the minimum weight, and made the car so nimble through the infield, it was amazing!\u201d Lucas Sanford<\/p>\n<p>1\/8 Scale E Buggy Final Results:<\/p>\n<p>1.
