I was born in Boise, ID and my Dad, Jim “The Prez” Campbell could see the Capital Dirt Burners RC track from the hospital window. Anything with a transmitter has always been interesting to me and I got my first kit, a Team Associated T3 Team Stadium Truck when I was just getting into racing. Since then, I have always been into some form of RC from dirt track offroad to touring cars to planes and EDF Jets, boats, tanks, construction equipment and beyond. Pretty much if there is an RC version of it, I’ve probably had it at some point.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=”color: #000000″>My family purchased and moved Tekin from California to Idaho in 2004 and I have worked for the company full time since 2007. I love my job and it really doesn’t feel like a job as it is everything I have loved to do from RC to video editing to now filling our Team Manager position. I have my hands in Marketing and run our social media outlets, I am involved heavily in product development and testing, I built and manage our website and online store and I package product when help is needed in Production. \n<span style=”color: #000000″>My home racetrack is CRC Raceway in Rome, NY and I have been in the hobby since 2012. In 2014 I went “all in”, racing at least weekly in that timeframe since. In that time I have had the privilege to learn from some of the best on-road racers in the industry at CRC, while also working on my oval and off-road racing as well. I have always believed that practice and hard work always pay off and that there is something much more important than just getting the win in a given race. How you carry yourself and interact with people on and off the racetrack is what leaves the longest lasting impression. \nMy dad has owned a small shop in Ohio my whole life and I have always been around R\/C cars. Born and raised in Medina Ohio I left in 2006 to begin working for Kyosho as their team manager in Southern California. Since then I have become sort of a journeyman through multiple chassis manufacturers over the past 15 years. Tekin however has been my power plant of choice on the electric side since 2009. Through those years I have also been married and now have 4 wonderful children and moved back to Medina, Ohio in late 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of my favorite things to do in R\/C are to create onboard GoPro video’s of my cars after events to really showcase the speed these cars go and to just give a new perspective to everyone watching. I am proud to be with Tekin year after year and am never at a loss of power in my electric rides as I compete against the top guys in the world which always keeps my competitive juices flowing!<\/span><\/p>\n

Started racing RC cars in 1984 at Arizona Fast Track in Tucson AZ with a RC10, it was a bike ride away from where I grew up. I had 2 other rc\u2019s before that, the Grasshopper and the Supper Champ. I’ve done it all from plains, helicopters and boats. Rc has always been in my life but not always racing.<\/span><\/p>\n

2016 I discovered U4RC.com and Brian Jones. I became the manager assisting Brian over the first year of racing u4 and wanted to keep this style racing going even after it’s known hay days of Glen Helen, CA. I love scale RC cars and love to go fast. Crawlers are a blast but I want to go a little faster so U4 is what gives me that fix.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I do everything RC still to this day. You never know what I might be piloting with transmitter of some kind. My Local tracks are CTRC and Thunder Alley. This is where I put down some 1\/8 buggy and truggy laps and races. NoPrep is hot and I really dig the cars. So this past year I have teamed up with Tyler Zavadil with RC Dragtalk and all his races. My goal with RC is to help other drivers new and old any way I can. I do not consider my self a \u201dPro Level Driver\u201d but I do promote RC with my experience. I have managed to take a few podiums in my time but nothing like a DNC or PNB. I’m your club racer. I dig the local crew and what I call the underground of RC, better known as the RC Bashers. I love me some monster truck doing back flips 20 plus feet in the air. Who doesn’t like to go full send? So that’s my deal with RC I have alywas had them and will never stop.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nI started this great hobby many years ago, just as something to do to have a little fun. In 2015 I bought my first Race ready vehicle and took it to Hot Shots Raceway which was my my local track. From the second I touched the dirt I was hooked. The first year was a huge learning experience into the racing side of things. I\u2019ve made some great friends in the process as well as steadily improving. Since starting racing I have worked extremely hard to better myself throughout the years. I do the very best that I can to help all of the guys there with their setups, tire choices and just general questions. I have helped them all improve as well. Also helping out when issues arise as I try and carry multiple spare parts, tires, batteries etc. My goal over the next year is to better myself in setups, get faster, and also continue to help others as best I can.<\/span><\/p>\n

I try to travel to as many tracks as I can during the seasons gaining more friendships along the way. I plan to attend multiple bigger events through next year. \nAfter my failed attempt at flying model planes, I have enjoyed staying on the ground, racing various cars and trucks since 1988. I raced mainly at club level for most of of the time, but finally had opportunities to travel to larger events since 2017. I raced carpet and asphalt oval up until On-road racing hit our area in the late ’90s and have been running On-road ever since. Spent a couple years running Off-road truck and buggy, but On-road just kept calling me back.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even more rewarding than the many laps run and races won over the years is the opportunity to share information and help others improve their own skills, both on and off the track.
