This weekend I traveled to Reo Raceway in Rockport, IN to break out the new Hyper 9E Buggy. I put in a basic setup and started from that. I got there early to get in a little practice time and get the car right and ready to do battle. I spent the better part of practice trying new things and changing things up until I finally got the car really close and feeling really good. They prepped the track before the first round of quals so I switched back to a set of SS Enduro’s. The 1st round of quals started and I was setting a blistering pace out front pulling away from the field. I ended up setting TQ the 1st round and setting a new track record for the current layout. The 2nd and 3rd rounds went about the same as the 1st. I got out to an early lead in both and just tried to put down consistent laps and learn the car a little better. In the main I went back to my go to tire the AKA SS Enduro. The main started and I got out to an early lead. I started putting in really consistent laps and was steadily pulling away from the field. In the first 10 minutes I already had a 2 lap lead so I just put it in cruise mode. I ended up winning the 15 minute main by a 3 lap margin proving the Hyper 9E will be a car to beat this winter on the tight indoor off road track. My HoBao Hyper 9E equipped with AKA tires and Tekin electronics was dialed all night long. Pretty awesome TQ and Win with first time I ever had the car on the track. Thanks OFNA/Hobao, AKA, and Tekin for making such awesome products.
