Do you solder the motor direct to the ESC?

If you are cutting off the stock Mini Rage motor plugs and soldering directly to the motor tabs you NEED to REMOVE the thin insulation on the motor wires before soldering. The thin insulation is underneath the thick outer wire insulation. If this insulation is not removed the unit will operate poorly, including hesitations, high temperatures and premature product failure.

Prez says: This also holds true for the general condition of the connectors and how clean they are. A very good connection on all 3 phases is required to operate properly and blow the rubber off your wheels as well as good batteries with heavy wires and high quality connectors
