| In Derek's words it was game on at the region 12 on road championships this last weekend. Derek had been working hard the last few club races at Ripon with the spec tires and getting the RS and Redline 13.5 dialed in just right. Boy did it payoff in a big way! Starting with Touring car Super Stock (13.5) he was fastest qualifier in rounds one and three securing the TQ honors. In the triple A mains he held off a hard charging Eric Albano for two straight rounds to secure the win.
In World GT Derek qualified behind Tim Copp. In the first two mains he took the lead on the first lap and took home the win in World GT as well!
In touring modified the field was stacked with some big names but it was game time. Derek pulled off a 5th place qualifying position and was ready for the mains. In the first main he got loose on the start but worked all the way back up to the third position. In the second main he got a much better start and held third all race finishing with another third right behind Tyler Vic and EJ Evans. He was tied for second in points with EJ and for round three EJ was going to be starting on pole so he went for broke, but couldn't run him down so he ended up with 3rd overall.
